Historic Resources Survey Update - City of Tustin Workshop
Name:
Historic Resources Survey Update - City of Tustin Workshop
Date:
March 12, 2020
Time:
6:00 PM - 7:00 PM PDT
Event Description:
The City of Tustin’s Community Development Department is undertaking an update of Tustin’s previous historic resources surveys, conducted in 1990 and 2003.
This historic resources survey will update information on the 400+ properties identified in the earlier surveys as being places of social, historical, and architectural significance. It will also re-survey the entire city (with the exception of Tustin Ranch and Tustin Legacy Specific Plan areas below) to identify additional properties of potential significance.
The survey will consider all properties that will be at least 45 years of age by the project’s conclusion in 2021 – that is, all buildings, structures, objects, and sites constructed through 1976. The survey is not limited to buildings, but is restricted to what is still in existence – the former location of a now-demolished historic building, for example, is unlikely to be considered.
The overall purpose of the citywide survey update is to record and update information on potential historic resources in Tustin. No properties will receive formal historic designation as part of the survey; this is a completely separate process subject to public notification, participation, and review.
